Data Analysis Resources
It is important to realize that in qualitative inquiry, data analysis is not a sterile, linear process. It is an iterative process, always unstable, a process of constant comparison, reflection, questioning, building, breaking apart ideas, all informed through one's epistemology, ontology, theoretical framework, and research purpose and questions. There is no magic recipe for data analysis. However, the following are some tools. These tools do not conduct the data analysis. The researcher does. Just like Microsoft Word does not write one's paper, the author does, the use of these tools do not make an analysis stronger or weaker. The quality of analysis determines the value of data analysis.
Kansas State University has a site license for NVivo, which can be used for both PC and Mac. I have dedicated a separate page for NVivo Resources.
